Board of Directors
The MTSSB Board of Directors has extensive experience and expertise in technology, management, design, finance, legal, corporate affairs, marketing, human resource and education.
Together, the members serve to guide the MTSSB Leadership in driving the organisation in the best interest of the stakeholders; and in adding value to the organisation by continuing to improve its commercialisation programme.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Ismail graduated with a Bachelor of Economics in Applied Economics from the University of Malaya in 1983 and obtained a Diploma in Public Management from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) in 1986. He obtained a Master of Business Administration in Business Administration (Project Based) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Politics from the University of Hull, United Kingdom in 1996 and 2005 respectively.
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ismail has been in public service since 1983, attached to Ministry of Finance. He held various leadership roles in multiple ministries and retired in 2020 as Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia.

Dato’ Dr. Suhazimah earned Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and Master of Science in Computer Science from Northrop University, California in 1984 and 1985 respectively. In 2007, Dato’ Dr. Suhazimah obtained her PhD in Information Security Management from University of Malaya.
Dato’ Dr Suhazimah retired after almost 35 years in public service on 1st Oct 2020, after holding the post of Deputy Director-General (ICT) which also carry the responsibility of the Government Chief Information Officer (GCIO) in the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU), Prime Minister’s Department, since August 2014.

Encik Mohd Rani Dali bin Samsudin completed his Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration in 1984 and 1986 respectively, from Western Illinois University, Illinois, USA.
He spent more than 30 years in banking industry, namely Maybank Investment Bank Berhad, Malaysia International Merchant Bank, and Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad.
He has participated and completed a vast array of financial related transactions across different product and service types including Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), Rights and Bonus issues, Derivatives, Loan Stocks, Book Buildings, Underwritings, Margin Financing, Portfolio Structuring, Placements, Mergers and Acquisitions mandates, Reverse Takeovers, Delisting and various other corporate exercises, involving corporates clients as well as institutional and retails clients.

Dr Saat Shukri Embong obtained his first degree in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hartford, Hartford, CT, USA, in 1994 and he was awarded a Master of Engineering in Mechatronics in 1995. He obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2015.
Dr Saat Shukri spearheaded his career when he joined Motorola Inc in 1995 and moved on to ON Semiconductor Inc in 1998 as the New Product Introduction Program Manager. His vast working experience included his career journey with STATSChipPAC Inc, Infineon Technologies AG, Texas Instrument Inc, and Freescale Semiconductor Inc from 2002 until 2008. In 2009, he joined the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) as Head of Technology for Technology Evaluation and Transfer activities under the Technology Nurturing division. A year later in 2010, he was seconded to the Prime Minister’s Office as the Operation Director, Office of Science Advisor to the Malaysia Prime Minister.
He later joined MIMOS Berhad in 2010 as the Director of Research and led various collaboration programmes with local and international industries, universities and research institutions. In 2013, he led the Technology and Product Portfolio Development and Management Group where he supervised various aspects of strategic activities such as providing market intelligence, identifying technologies and products to be developed by the R&D Group as well as bringing those outputs to market. In 2016, he was tasked to lead MIMOS Strategy Office, providing the overall strategies for the company’s way forward related to Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) in line with the national strategy to position Malaysia in the top 20 countries by 2050.
In 2023, Dr Saat Shukri was appointed as Head of the Technology Venture Sector and responsible for collaboration and partnership, commercialisation and talent development efforts and initiatives. Throughout his tremendous career, he has successfully developed various new technologies, products and solutions as well as secured various intellectual properties in the field which qualified him to be included in the 16th Edition MARQUIS’ Who’s Who In The World.
